The Prebuzz does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser's local and session storage for two things:

• your choice to accept or decline anonymous analytics
• randomly generated visit and session identifiers, so a single visit is not counted many times over

These identifiers are random values. They are not linked to your name, email address or any account.

Analytics on The Prebuzz are first-party: the data is collected by our own website and stored in our own database. There is no third-party analytics provider connected, and nothing is shared with an advertising network.

Each recorded visit contains:

• the page path and the time of the visit
• the country your connection appears to come from
• the referring source, where the browser provides one
• general device, browser and operating system type

We do not store IP addresses.

To understand which countries our readers are in, which products and pages people care about, and whether the site works well on the devices people actually use. It guides what we cover and what we build next.

When you first visit, a small notice asks whether you accept anonymous analytics. Nothing is recorded until you accept. If you decline, no analytics are collected, and the site continues to work exactly the same way.

Your choice is stored in your browser. Clearing the site data for The Prebuzz in your browser settings resets it, and the notice will appear again on your next visit so you can choose differently. Using private browsing has the same effect for that session.
